This recipe uses steel cut oats, which are less processed than regular rolled oats. They take longer to cook, but they have a richer, nuttier flavor and are better for you.

You’ll need about a half hour to make this recipe, so if you’re not a morning person you can easily make it the night before and just re-heat it in the a.m. It tastes just as good that way. Or, you can get your lazy butt out of bed a little earlier and fire up the stove for a fresh pot ‘o oats.

- 1.5 cups Water
- 1 Apple (diced)
- 1/4 cup Skim Milk
- 1/2 cup Steel Cut Oats
- 1 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1 tsp. Stevia
Bring a pot of water to a boil. Stir in the steel cut oats. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer. Stir every couple minutes to make sure oats don’t stick to pan. After 20 minutes, add the milk, cinnamon, and stevia and continue cooking for another 5 minutes.
