Judging by the plethora of recipes using avocado on my site, I think it’s safe to say they’re one of my favorite fruits (yes, avocado is technically a fruit). This avocado pear salad recipe, is pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. It’s a great balance of savory and sweet flavors and smooth and crunchy textures.
I used gorgonzola cheese, which is a tangy, pungent cheese in the “blue” family. If blue cheese isn’t your thing, I recommend muenster, gouda, parmesan, or cheddar.
The calorie count for this recipe is on the higher side (304). That’s because avocados are high in good fats. This recipe also has 10 grams of heart healthy fiber per serving. So if you’re watching your calories/weight, just serve this avocado pear salad with a lean, low calorie dish (like my Chicken with Mango Chutney recipe).
